300 : Rise Of An Empire

Greek general Themistokles was in charge to lead war against Persia, who was led by Xerxes, whom father was killed by Themistokles. 

He succeeded to unite whole Greece, except Sparta. Their 300 best soldiers desired to go on their own with King Leonidas as leader. When the traitor spread their tactics and strategy to Xerxes himself, Leonidas and the 300 all died.

It is all on Themistokles’ shoulder now. He can choose whether he want to do the war or just give up. Unsurprisingly, he chose to go against Persians, who had the best leader in their navy, Artemisia, who was Greek. 

Themistokles tried to gain help from Spartan, but their Queen, Gorgo, was still grieving from her husband’s death.

War by war was won by Themistokles and his army, until the final battle, he faced Artemisia herself. 

Long story cut short, Artemisia was killed by Themistokles. When Persians lost their leader, the Spartan came in all of a sudden. Xerxes? He was watching from the top of the cliff. Who will win? Nobody knows except the director, and the script writer. 

There is plot twist, when you watch the movie, the beginning was a woman’s voice telling us story, a prophesy. In the end, we will figure out that she was Queen Gorgo, telling the story of the past, when she and her army were sailing on their voyage to help Themistokles.

It was great story. Entertaining and encouraging. The ending was a cliff hanger.  I recommend you to watch the first movie before watch this one, it will help a lot.
